Just a little thought.

Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying your lovely summer break! I know I am not on break... but I am enjoying this weather!! Even if I am in pants all day until 5:30 and stuck on campus or in a classroom.... July 23 will be the day these legs see the light!! 34 days until I graduate!! Ah!!

I have had the wonderful opportunity to go to a school and be apart of the 6th grade classroom. I have loved every moment of it. Thursday was the last day...  I miss them already. :( Two weeks ago we had the annual 6th grade High Nile Festival which is when the students all make pyramids. The other grades come to our classroom and the 6th graders explain the point of pyramids and any other information about Egypt.  We all had to dress up like egyptians and not wear shoes (my kiddos said I looked more greek...). It was my favorite day of the semester by far!

As I said my goodbyes on Thursday,  I'm not going to lie... It was so hard because you grow to love these kids so much. It is amazing how much love you have for them before you even really know them.  I can't wait to have my own class, I already love them so much. Kids have so much to offer and we need to take some time out of the day to listen to what they have to say.  They might not be the most exciting stories or not so "fun" facts, but they are so smart and deserve to be listened to. I can't tell you have often I was corrected for spelling something wrong or doing a math problem wrong.  They know what they are doing. Don't underestimate the students. They have great potential and I am so grateful I have picked this major to be apart of their most important years to learn.

Until next time!
